Stuff on Sunday...

Lots going on in my head right now. For example:
1. I have the bug to move. I have looked at one house 3 times now. My children have seen it. I have taken photos. Now I really need for Marc to see it. I think it is perfect for us - for what we will need in the next 5 years. It is a 6 bedroom house and each bedroom has its own bathroom. Plenty of room for the kids and for them to really have their OWN spaces. And plenty of room for craft area and guest room. Important to me. But I am concerned about moving - all the work... And packing. And having to de-junk... That is making my head hurt and giving me a panic attack. And I haven't even had my realtor over to value our house. What if it is not worth the amount I think it is?? I am not going to give my house away. But at the same time, it is not working for us anymore... Arg.
2. I am having surgery tomorrow. Plastic surgery that is. The moles on my face are being removed. I am extremely anxious about this. I don't heal easily and I scar. So I am afraid that there will be significant scars on my face after tomorrow. But the alternative is not acceptable either - these moles could turn cancerous. Really not pleased all around.
3. My weight is fluctuating again. So that means it is time for me again to get my exercise routine under control. I hate it. I really HATE the fact that my body cannot and will not loose one ounce without me having to work bloody hard for it. It is unfair. AND the less I eat the more weight I gain BECAUSE my screwed up body thinks I am trying to starve it. But if I eat too much, then I gain weight also. I am at a loss. The only thing that works is exercise - cardio exercise to be exact. Sweat = burn fat. No sweat, no burn, no losing fat. I hate it. HATE it.
4. My family has been sick this past week. Strep throat and the general flu. Marc is getting over pneumonia - about three weeks now. It is brutal and I am tired of having sick people in my house and constantly cleaning every surface they touch for fear that I will get sick. I know, I am nice. Whatever. It is fine and dandy for the kids or hubby to be sick. Life slows down for them. They don't cook and clean. I do. Life won't stop for me. So I can't get sick. Period.
5. We are trying to decide a spring break vacation. It has been a month now and still we cannot agree on where to go. Pretty soon we won't be going anywhere because it will be too late to book anything. :(
6. Here is another outfit I am fond of. I LOVE jean jackets. I have 3 or 4 of them. Anytime I see an outfit paired with a jean jacket, I cannot help but fall in love again. Enjoy.
I have a lasagna in the oven I made from scratch. It smells wonderful!! I love my heritage. I need to check on it.
Ciao all.

Spring must be just around the corner...

WHY you might ask? Well, it is not because of the unaturally warm weather. Nor is it the fact that my trees are budding and my flowers are blooming. All very good indicators indeed that spring is around the corner. BUT not in my world. Spring must just be around the corner because I attened three open houses today and I am contemplating selling our house. THAT means it must be close to spring time! I have over the past month or so began wondering out loud to Marc whether or not we should be moving. Ethan is about to enter high school - as it is, his class will not all move together into one high school. We have many to choose from. And we live out of catchment anyway, so really Ethan should be attending the school in our neighbourhood - but I don't like it. Bella will be moving into Gr 4 - still plenty of time to make new friends and move with them into high school. So I am thinking about moving by summer time. And our mortgage is up this summer - again, perfect time to move. New house and new rates and new mortgage and no penalties and no having to "blend and extend" rates. I hate that. But I digress. :) So I looked at a house out in Langley today and I really liked it. I am starting to think of what we will need with teens in the house (GAG!!!) and this house we saw would really work. All 4 bedrooms upstairs had their own bathrooms! Very cool bathrooms I might add, with rain shower heads and glass subway tiles and jetted tubs... And all had walk in closets. And there was this cool separate office on the main floor, by the kitchen, for computer station/homework area. The fireplace in the great room was outstanding - floor to ceiling stone work. There was also a legal two bedroom suite in the basement but I think I would keep that for our own use and turn the kitchen into a "summer kitchen"/extra storage. One bedroom would be used as a guest room and one as my craft room. Not to mention the storage - impressive amounts. So I guess I will have to have the more serious conversation with Marc and really see if it is time to move. It will be 7 years in this house come December... Longest stay ever in one place. ;) Yup, spring MUST be just around the corner.

Ciao all.

Projects, projects and more projects...

It is science fair time. Oh joy. I am not a fan of science fair. As I seem to end up "helping" too much. Now, my kids are uber smart. Scary smart. Ethan is building a laser. Bella is writing a chapter book for her class. Crazy. They don't have any problems coming up with their project ideas and researching them, and doing experiments, etc. They just lack the creative flair at the end to pull it all together. That is where I come in to "help" and end up doing it myself. Hate that. I had to walk away today from Ethan's project because after the 2.5 hours I put in, I realized this was getting out of control - on my part. Not my project. Not my project. Not my project. But if I could just fix this title, or move this paragraph, or add a little pizazz... NOT my project... Oh how I love science fair time.

I am off to make sugar cookies now because on top of it being science fair, it is also Valentine's week = parties. Pile it on. :)

Ciao all.
